Dhurrie

Indian flatweave, traditionally in cotton or wool, characterised by geometric or striped patterns.

Dhurries are the Indian expression of flatweave — historically woven in Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in cotton for daily use and wool for cooler climates. Modern dhurries carry contemporary geometrics and are increasingly specified for layering. See [[flatweave]], [[kilim]].
